Is it Spring yet? (by Latane)

I am so ready for spring. We are beginning to get a few signs but it certainly would be nice to see some tulips. Until they poke their heads up out of the ground, this will have to do. Joining with Paint Party Friday

Two Bluebirds by Marie

Continuing with my bird theme:
Two bluebirds last summer visited the deck together, one a male and the other a female.  I saw them in the juniper tree branches, and thought that would make a good watercolor.  Joining in with Paint Party Friday!  Thank you Eva and Kristin for this great place to display our artwork!

Pink Rose (by Latane)

I just mailed this to my youngest daughter. I hope she likes it.

I had fun doing it. Don't you always have fun when they turn out well?

I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else has on Paint Party this week.

Fruit Still Life by Latane

Marie and I, both, are enjoying our interaction with all of  you who visit our website. Thank you for coming by and we hope you will drop by every chance you get.

Since two of us post on the same day I've often wondered if some visitors see whichever post is on top of the page and doesn't check to see if there's more. Heaven's to Betsy... I hope not. It's a Mother/Daughter team. She's the better artist. I just tag along for the ride. Hey, painting keeps me outta trouble!! he he.

So, here is my entry for this weeks Paint Party Friday.

Scrub Jay and Grosbeak Watercolors by Marie

Wow, what a lot of wonderful comments I am getting on my art work posts!   Thank you all!   I have to say, I feel like my Oil Paint work and my Watercolor work just don't look similar!  I do better with oils, and sometimes with watercolor it's either a hit or a miss.  Lately I have been doing watercolors of different birds.  Please ignore the wavyness of the watercolor paper...these will look better once they are matted (and flat). Here is the Western Scrub Jay and also the Female Black-Headed Grosbeak I am sharing with Eva and Kristin's Paint Party Friday.   Thanks to them both for hosting a wonderful Paint Party!

Smith Rock by the Canal--oil by Marie

Last Fall we went for a drive and passed this wonderful scene, so we stopped and I took several photos.  I'm not sure what the purpose is for the little canal, but it fed into a stream one cannot see from my viewpoint, and of course had majestic Smith Rock as a backdrop.  This oil painting took me about three weeks, with stopping to let areas dry before going on.  It is somewhat large at 16 X 20, and I plan to put it up for sale after it's framed. Let's Go Sailing by Latane

It's Ground Hog Day. I'd post a painting of a groundhog if I had one, but I don't. Can't see myself ever painting one! Instead here is one of my son's sailboat. Sure hope that groundhog predicts the coming weather in our favor so the sailboat can be put to use again. Linking with Paint Party Friday
