Times Past (by Latane)

There is something that draws me to old houses. I can't help but wonder who lived there, what the family was like, how they spent their days and nights. This scene with the ragged curtains blowing in the wind tugs at my heart.

    I really love this painting! The weathered wood is just perfect! And it makes you sad to think the people left their curtains in the window and moved on years ago.

    Like you I am drawn to old houses ... this is a beautiful painting, Latane and it does evoke questions about the history that brought this old house to such a place.

    beautiful, lots of feeling in this piece,, sometimes the old houses look spooky but I'm sure there were lots of happy times within the walls, maybe a lttle sad too but thats life isn't it,

    I love your painting and I love it to read your thoughts as I have also a special connection to old houses. I'm always wondering whom would i meet when visiting the resident of the respective house.

    I am always drawn towards old and abandoned houses as well. I imagine the stories they would hold onto their bosoms! I have done some work on the subject too!
