We used to live in Tucson and every year the cactus blooms were such a delight. The deep orange ones were a favorite of mine. I painted this watercolor from a photo taken of a big cactus outside our grandson's school where I had photographed some of the blooms while waiting to pick him up. Still wishing for some spring blossoms here in Terrebonne, Oregon, though we did see a few in Bend a few days ago! Really longing for spring...and joining in today with Eva and Kristin's Paint Party Friday!
What a bright and beautiful painting. I LOVE it! What a talented artist you are. This grey day needed a splash of color. Thank you! :D
ReplyDeleteMy mother liked to grow cacti. I love seeing them bloom, but there are just too many stickers for me!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting!
Marie, your painting is gorgeous. I've never raised a cactus so I didn't realize how beautiful the blossoms are.
ReplyDeleteLove your painting, the blooms have such a wonderful colour. Happy PPF, hugs, Valerie

ReplyDeleteYes, I miss he blooms of the desert myself. These are beautiful. We never get a real summer here in Florence, OR. The cold ocean wind carries off the warm.
ReplyDeleteThat's very beautiful!
