A Purple Thistle by Latane

For Paint Party Friday The thistle is a favorite of mine... if I don't have to get too close. They will stick you. Watercolor on 8x8" watercolor paper.

    Thistles, one of my favorite flowers. OK, I know they are considered a week but I think they are so pretty. Well done on this one.

    Wonderful painting! When I was a kid, we found a way to deprickle the thistle, and pretended to use the purple flower as a shaving creme brush! Haha

    Very good!
    Though the Thistle plants are very prickly, the blooms are soft. I love to run my fingers along the very tops of the bloom, but I am very careful to stand back from the plant itself!
